FRANCODEX Vitamin C Snacks are a unique way to provide guinea pigs with their daily dose of vitamin C.They can be used as the main source of vitamin C or as a supplement to another source of vitamin C (drinks, fresh produce, tablets, etc.).).
The daily vitamin C requirement for healthy guinea pigs is 20 mg/kg.This requirement triples during illness, convalescence, pregnancy, and lactation (60 mg/kg).
DIRECTIONS:
- As a preventive measure: guinea pigs weighing <1 kg—2 snacks per day.Guinea pigs weighing >1 kg - 3 snacks a day
- During recovery, pregnancy, and lactation: triple the dose, i.e., give 6 snacks per day.
It is recommended to wait until the young rodents have been weaned (at 10 weeks of age) before starting to give them treats..
Supplemental food is not a substitute for a balanced diet.
