Rapid Diagnostic Test – FeLV Ag
This test is intended for the qualitative detection of feline leukemia virus (FeLV) antigen in serum, plasma, or whole blood samples.FeLV is an oncogenic virus that can cause cancers such as lymphoma and leukemia, as well as non-cancerous diseases.
Infection occurs mainly through contact with the saliva, urine, or feces of an infected cat.The virus can also be transmitted during pregnancy, through colostrum, or via a blood transfusion.Because the virus survives for only a short time outside the body, infection requires close contact between animals.FeLV weakens the immune system, increasing a cat's susceptibility to secondary infections.
